Surf and Turf!

This past weekend we were in food heaven, thanks to Certified Steak and Seafood Company. They let me pick three of their products to review. It was hard to choose!

Here's a selection of what you can find on their website:

Well - if you know me though, you already figured I went for some kind of "Surf and Turf" variation, since I LOVE seafood and you can never beat a good piece of beef. So I picked the 6 oz. Bahamian Lobster Tail9 oz. Chilean Sea Bass, and an 8 oz. Angus Filet Mignon. Good choice! I will definitely order more often from now on. I think I'm hooked. The quality of the food Certified Steak and Seafood Company offers is incredibly amazing!

Shipping was super quick (which is great, considering what's inside the package). The goods came in a big cooler with dry ice. Everything was still frozen and looked great!

I made this little video to show you the progress from unboxing, preparing, cooking (or in this case: grilling and broiling). Check it out:

I've never ever prepared lobster in my life, so I was glad the package came with recipe ideas for each item. I only grabbed a tiny piece of the lobster to get a taste, but since my friend INHALED them, I am pretty sure they turned out great! Well - at least he said he loved it. And friends don't lie to you, right? ;o)

I didn't put that much seasoning on the Sea Bass. Just slightly sprinkled it with Lemon Pepper and salt, grilled it for about 6 minutes, and used some fresh lemon juice as a finish. My favorite item was the Angus Filet Mignon though. OMG! To. Die. For. Sea salt, cracked black pepper, cast iron pan... Heaven. I'm not lying when I say, this was by far the best piece of meat I've had in my 34 years on this planet!

I am VERY pleased with the whole ordering process. And the food was super delicious!

I made a couscous salad as a side dish. I will share the recipe on here soon, too.
