BBT Charting in 2017 // Review: TempCue

I know (and Google Analytics tells me) that most of my readers are females in their 20s and 30s. Means: Baby fever age!

Pencil-and-filling-out-graph-papers-by-hand-times are over! Thanks to FAIRHAVEN HEALTH, i can show you a device that will help you tracking your basal body temperature (= BBT), which results in you being able to identify when ovulation has occurred, aka shows you what days are THE BEST to make love. Well - this would be every day if you ask me, but it will tell you when it's the BEST days during your cycle to make a baby. Ha!

What is BBT?

BBT charting detects the natural rise in your temperature that takes place once ovulation has occurred and your body has become progesterone dominant. The temperature rise occurs after ovulation has occurred so it can't predict your ovulation day in that same cycle.

FAIRHAVEN HEALTH and their TempCue device that connects to the OvaGraph app bring the whole (kind of rusty) BBT method to 2017! The device connects to your iPhone or iPad (compatible devices), and the data will be saved, charted, and interpreted automatically according to the Fertility Awareness Method by OvaGraph - the official app of Toni Weschler's bestselling book, Taking Charge of Your Fertility.

I'd suggest to just leave the TempCue on your night stand, so you can get your reading done first thing in the morning. The reading will only be accurate if you haven't been up yet! So the best thing to do is to litarally grab your phone and TempCue FIRST THING after you open your eyes in the morning!

Start the app, click "Take a Reading", and the app will walk you through the rest. It takes about one minute to take the reading, so I can go back to sleep pretty fast. The temperature reading is super accurate. To be honest - I didn't even know that a reading that precise is even possible!

FYI: Sometimes an error screen might pop up telling you "Volume too low". It's an easy fix though: just unplug and plug in the device into your phone again as you normally would, and immediately turn the volume up!

Overall it's a GREAT and easy to use device!

What's In the Box?

The TempCue Basal Thermometer Kit includes:

  • The TempCue Temperature Sensor
  • The Mobile Adapter (necessary for connecting the temperature sensor to your smart device)
  • A discreet, silky carrying pouch

Are you using some kind of ovulation prediction device?

Would you give TempCue a try?
