I Need Your Vote: Help Me Share My Art With the World (and Johnny Depp)

I’m so excited (and honestly still a little in disbelief) to share that I’ve been selected for the first round of Johnny Depp’s The People’s Artist Project. Out of so many talented creatives, my work was chosen to move forward, and now the next step depends on community support.

This project is about giving artists a platform and helping new voices be seen. Through public voting, artists have the chance to move through the competition and earn incredible opportunities that could truly change the direction of their creative journey.

If I’m fortunate enough to continue advancing, the rewards go far beyond recognition. Winners have the opportunity to display their artwork at The Art of Elysium’s Salon, appear in Artforum Magazine, and receive a $25,000 prize.

For me, this isn’t just about a contest.

Art has always been one of the ways I process life, tell stories, and stay connected to myself. Creating has carried me through seasons of growth, uncertainty, grief, inspiration, and healing. To have my work selected for something like this feels deeply personal; like a reminder to keep showing up, keep making, and keep believing there’s a place for what I create.

But I can’t move forward without your help.

Every vote matters, and your support would mean more to me than I can really put into words. Whether you’ve followed my art for years, supported a post, purchased a piece, shared encouragement, or simply believed in what I’m trying to build: THANK YOU. You’ve already been part of this journey.

And if I were lucky enough to win the $25,000 prize, I know exactly what I would do.

Back in 2020, Justin and I remodeled a tiny Scamp camper with dreams of adventure, and freedom. We took many road trips with it. Life shifted, as it often does, and over the last four years it’s sat neglected - waiting for its next chapter. And this time at will be only me going on the adventure...

Winning would give me the chance to bring it back to life.

I would get the camper road-ready again, head west, and finally take the kind of journey I’ve talked about for years, but didn't have the courage for yet, now that I'm widowed. I imagine long stretches of highway, desert skies, mountain mornings, small towns, roadside inspiration, and the kind of breathing room that lets creativity return in a deeper way. I imagine reconnecting with art not just in the studio, but out in the world.

This opportunity feels bigger than recognition. It feels like a chance to create momentum - to share my work with a wider audience, to keep growing as an artist, and to open a new chapter that blends creativity, exploration, and connection.

If you’d like to support me, I would be so grateful if you took a moment to vote.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting my art, and helping me take this next step.

With gratitude,

Anni ❤
