Geek. Nerd. Gamer.

Confession: I'm a gamer. I love my Wii! I love my mystery games. And I just fell in love with "World Of Warcraft". M was playing it every once in a while when his job and school didn't keep him way to busy. Well and me ;)

He was so happy when I mentioned I wanted to give it a try! So we sat down in front of the computer, created my account and picked and designed a character. Since I'm not a fan of trolls and elves, I decided to be a priest. Pretty cool! And I can heal myself! Ha!

At first I was lost. I didn't know what to do in this game, running around getting attacked. I wonder how M was able to stay calm? He is sooooo patient! Well his comments about "hey you are running in the wrong direction!" or "orientation is what you have to learn!" and my fave one "USE YOUR SHIELD!!!!" made me kinda go crazy and I was even about to stop playing.

But after a while I knew how everything works. I solved quests and even teamed up with M and his character every once in a while to complete some more quests! It's fun :) really! I know, many women freak out when their men spent too much time playing video games. But you know what? Do it my way and join your better half :) teaching you how to play their games makes them happy! Plus some virtual quality time in a world full of trolls, elves and weird creatures while sitting next to each other at the kitchen table can be fun, too!

So far I made it to level 13. I think when you get to level 20 you have to buy a game pass or something like that. I'm even considering doing that! Carazay, I know! But it's really fun!

Are there any more female gamers out there? Holla at me!

xoxo

Thankfulness Thursdays {5}

Source: etsy.com via Dee on Pinterest

Sometimes you see some certain things, that will be stuck in your head for a long time. If not forever... One of those things, I saw today.

During my lunch break, I walked over to the bakery. I wanted to get something to eat. When I arrived there, I stopped in front of it since 2 women ran out, waving and yelling something. I looked through the windows of the bakery, and then I saw it. A woman, laying on the floor, looking more dead than alive. And a man, performing CPR. I heard the ambulance coming. So I kept on walking. Knowing the situation is under control and there are people taking care.

I was in shock after I saw that. I might see it in my dreams again tonight. I´ve seen CPR way too often in my life I think, even though I´m not a doc/nurse/paramedic. And I was the one saving a woman´s life performing CPR to her as well:

A couple of months ago (it might have been last year around that time), I was in my old hometown, walking home to my sister´s place after a night out with my friends. I don´t know why (my buddy God might have had something to do with that though...), but I didn´t take the straight way home, even though it was way past midnight. I decided to walk a bit downtown. So I made a right instead of walking straight on.

After a few meters, I saw a bicycle, laying in the middle of the road. As I walked closer, I saw a woman laying next to the bike. And that was when my autopilot took over I guess. I called 911, and since I took a first aid course for a few weeks shortly before that happened, I still knew exactly what to do. I was checking if the woman was still breathing, checking her pulse, her throat to see if she threw up or anything.
People walked past me and made stupid comments instead of asking if I needed any help... After I checked everything, I knew I had to start performing CPR. And even then, none of the people walking past us offered their help.

After a couple of minutes, a man finally stopped and took over doing the CPR. I was sweating and tired and my arms already hurt. Then FINALLY the ambulance and police arrived. The paramedics took care of the lady, and the police started asking me what happened....

After I told them everything, they were getting ready to leave. But the lady´s bicycle was still laying there in the middle of the road! So I asked them to please take the bike so nobody would steal it during the night. I didn´t know how the lady was doing, but I knew as soon as she feels better again, she would be happy to get her bike back. So that´s what they did.

And me? I finally walked home to my sister´s place. Yep, I walked. Nope, the police didn´t offer to give me a ride in the middle of the night....

At least they gave me a call a couple of days later, letting me know the lady made it and she´s doing ok again!

Now you might think: What does all that have to do with the "Thankfulness Thursdays"? Seeing or being in situations like that, makes you realize that any minute, any day, it could be YOU laying there, somewhere between being dead or alive.

So today, and actually every day, I am thankful that God wakes me up in the morning, and is watching me during the days.
"If I never live another day
If I never see another smiling face
If I never breathe another breath or take
Another step I want to say Thank You

If I never hear what's to be heard
If I never speak another word
If I never see another sight or taste another bite
I want to say Thank you

Thank you for all that you've done thus far
Thank you for being the God that you are
Thank you for food on my table I know that
You are able, I wanna say Thank you

If I never take another walk
If I never have another talk
If I never hear another voice or make another choice
 I wanna say thank you

If I never scale a china wall or take a flight out
And got see the Taj Mahal
If I never find a special friend, If I never search the world
Over and back again Lord I wanna say Thank you

Thank you for food on my table
Thank you for making a way
Thank you for watching over me"

Volksfest! // Weekend Recap

Hey there and "Happy Labor Day"!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend? Mine was RELAXING! This was actually the first weekend at home after being on the road for the past 3 weekends... So I enjoyed what I pay rent for, spent time on the couch, taking a nap, reading. I missed that!

Saturday morning the couch I sold on the internet got picked up - the lady gave me 60 Euro, 10 more than I´ve asked for! But she was so thankful that M and I carried it downstairs from the 5th floor for her. Plus I washed all the covers and gave her an extra blanket for free. I´m happy the couch is outta here, but at the same time a little bit sad - it was the first couch I bought for my apartment. It was so comfy! Coco cat loved it so you can tell she started and keeps complaining since the minute it was out of the house ;o)!

M and I decided to grab the couch money, and go spend it at the Volksfest here in Nuremberg. We had a great time! We shared one of these huge german beers, I ate "Crêpe" with bananas and nutella, we even went on one of the rides! But: it sucked :oD!!! Seriously! It looked pretty amazing when we walked past. Like a huge submarine, and we heard all the sound and it was going up and down. But the second we sat down in there and the "awesome 3D animation" started (= remove awesome and 3D and you will actually have the truth) we just couldn´t stop laughing! It was soooooo baaaaaad! I can´t believe we spent 6 Euro for that crappy thing!

But we had a wonderful time walking around anyway. It wasn´t too crowded, after the sun set all the colorful lights came up. It was really nice!

What else was amazing: How fast the money disappeared!! Geeeeeez! And we don´t even have kids! I wonder how much the average family spends on a fun fair like that... I know, sometimes you just need some quality time, but spending money kinda hurts as well.

What did you guys do on the weekend?

Smooches!
