Running and Setbacks // Injuries

If you follow my Instagram, you know I am an avid runner, and I am even part of this HUGE local running group called the "South Arkansas Hustlers". When they say "running is cheaper than therapy" - they are right. Running helps me to clear my mind, to find solutions for issues, and to zone out for a little bit. A few weeks ago I broke my 5k PR by 3 minutes! I was super happy! My next goal is running a mile in under 8 minutes again. I want that 7 back!!!

Best number by the way... :oD

The story of my life: I do excellent for a while, but then shit happens. Like a bacterial infection I was fighting by taking antibiotics 3x a day for 10 days. Or a knee injury that one of my friends caused (he turned around looking for me while lifting a barbell.. which ended up hitting my knee... yea... not my friend anymore...).

Setbacks. I hate it.

The knee issue was bothering me a lot. So I was happy when VIVE Health sent me a care package, that included:

Compression Knee Sleeves

Patella Knee Straps

And they added a Shoulder Support (rotator cuff brace) for my friend as well!

My favorite item for sure are the compression sleeves! Oh what a difference they make! My legs feel way less heavy during and after the run. Especially while running longer distances.

By the way - the picture above shows another thing that's driving me nuts: The Fitbit GPS tracking. I have the Surge, which was $254. We run pre-mapped routes, so I definitely know when I hit 3 miles. So above you see the time my Fitbit tracked - and below the time my friend's running app had, which was on point mileage wise, so I know Fitbit is very very very off. We were running the same pace, right next to each other. The app said we hit 3 miles, and I had to keep running so the Fitbit hits the 3 miles as well. Ridiculous!! They really have to fix this! It's such an expensive device, and I'm having way too many issues with it.

Do you run? What gadgets, apps, etc, do you use?
