COVID-19 Self Distancing Diary - Day 1 // Be Like Kevin

Date: 3/18/2020
Got up at: 6:10am
Got dressed: No
Started to work: 7:08am
Cups of coffee: 5

Hey y'all! I hope everyone is doing well and self-distancing? Yesterday I received the news that starting today we will work remotely. So I may or may not be in my pajamas and Christmas robe right now, at 5pm. The worst thing that happened today was running out of Funfetti creamer. I'm still good on toilet paper, just in case you were wondering. But what time is it acceptable to heat up a frozen pizza? 9am? Past noon? Let me know so I know what to do tomorrow.

I used to work remotely for a while, so I just picked up where I left off back then.
I think it's important to keep your schedule! My alarm is still set at 5:45am. I get up, have a coffee and catch up on the morning news, but instead of "dolling up" for work, I just have another cup of coffee before I head to my desk. In the next couple of days I will try to put on some grown-up clothes before work though ;o) so I don't feel like raggedy Ann(i) all day hehe.

Thankfully I have enough projects to keep me busy for the next couple of weeks! It's still a weird feeling. I might have to schedule phone/video conferences with the other ladies from my department. Because it sure is lonely at home.

But I hope that at this point everyone is aware that there is NO WAY AROUND self distancing and staying at home as much as possible. Last night I drove past a local restaurant, and the patio was PACKED! I assume some folks will never learn... or if they will, they'll learn the hard way, by either get sick themselves, or spreading the coronavirus to someone else.

Please don't look at this as an extended spring break! Don't meet up at playgrounds, the park, cafes, restaurants... STAY AT HOME.

How are you these days? How is the pandemic impacting your daily life?
