#NaBloPoMo // Book: "The Wedding Girl"

This book was surprisingly good! I read it after 2 bloody thrillers in a row, being in desperate need of some chick-lit.

I have tons of Sophie Kinsella books, but this was my first one of her books writing as Madeleine Wickham, her real name.

She wrote 7 books as Madeleine Wickham; all of them years before the well-known "Shopaholic" series. She was often asked why she writes under two names - the reason is that these books are in a different style from her books written as Sophie Kinsella.

I loved " The Wedding Girl" right from the start! The main character, Milly, is such a lovable person! I read the book in 2 days. I laughed out loud many times, and even cried a little bit every now and then. The story and ALL the characters are wonderful!

"At eighteen, Milly was up for anything. So when a friend asked her to marry him just so he could stay in England, she didn't hesitate. To make it seem real she dressed up in wedding finery and posed on the steps of the registry office for Photographs.

Now, ten years later, Milly is very a very different person. Engaged to Simin - who is good-looking, wealthy and adores her - she is about to have the biggest and most elaborate wedding imaginable, all masterminded by her mother. Nobody knows about her first marriage, so it's almost as though it never happened - isn't it?

But with only four days to go, it looks as though Milly's past is going to catch up with her. Can she sort things out before her fairytale wedding collapses around her? How can she tell Simon? And worse still, how can she tell her mother...?"

Great book with lots of twists! 4 out of 5 stars!

#NaBloPoMo // Random Thoughts

// It´s around 9:30PM in good old Germany. I´m sitting in front of my laptop, sipping coffee (yep, M bought decaf accidently), having my 2nd chocolate bar and I feel...blah. If I had a tub, I would take a long hot bath.

// My life is going through some major changes right now. Again. Luckily this one doesn´t include moving across the country. Right now I don´t feel like talking about it. Yet! As soon as everything is confirmed and safe, you guys can be sure I will blog about it! Don´t worry, I´m fine! Just a lot going on right now and sometimes I´m pretty exhausted.

// M still didn´t find a job. That´s a bummer. He´s getting more and more frustrated. I´m just so ready for God to take care of everything. I know he has a plan for us. M and I did everything that is in our power.

// I don´t like "50 Shades Of Grey" so far. Nope, not at all. Made it to page 300. It´s a pain in the butt to pick up that book every day and read a bit. Ladies, does it ever get better??
What makes it worse: Miss Anni SURE bought all 3 books in a box already. Ugh. If they are all like the first one... It might take 30 more years for me to finish them all. I have some pretty nice books on my to-read-list aka my nightstand. Are you guys on goodreads.com? If so, hit me up on there!

// The weekend is around the corner, ladies! And since I can´t wait I will jump into my bed now, grab a hot water bottle on my way there, and maybe secretly start reading another book and "Next!" Mr Grey for a couple of days ;o)

Have a wonderful day/night!
xoxo
Anni

#NaBloPoMo // Election Day

On this election day, I just want to share some great posts of my wonderful friends I found on facebook today:

"I hope everyone has a blessed day. Be thankful we live in this wonderful country.  Remember to "BE NICE". We all play in the same sandbox! Hopefully you've already been praying for the man who will win this election. We may not know yet who it will be, but God does! I find that VERY reassuring....
don't you?"

"Hope you Americans do the right thing today!!!"

"However we cast our votes today, let's remember, we ALL have the right for our OWN opinions, that's what Democracy is supposed to be all about."

#NaPloPoMo // abc´s Nashville

One of my favourite TV shows at the moment is "Nashville" on abc. It airs on WEDNESDAYS 10|9c, and so far there are 4 Episodes - enough time for you guys to catch up! I love country music, and I love good TV shows. "Nashville" is a great combination of both!
"Chart-topping Rayna James (Connie Britton) is a country legend who's had a career any singer would envy, though lately her popularity is starting to wane. Fans still line up to get her autograph, but she's not packing the arenas like she used to. Rayna's record label thinks a concert tour, opening for up-and-comer Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), the young and sexy future of country music, is just what Rayna needs. But scheming Juliette can't wait to steal Rayna's spotlight. Sharing a stage with that disrespectful, untalented, little vixen is the last thing Rayna wants to do, which sets up a power struggle for popularity. Could the undiscovered songwriting talent of Scarlett O'Connor (Clare Bowen) be the key to helping Rayna resurrect her career?

Complicating matters, Rayna's wealthy but estranged father, Lamar Hampton (Powers Boothe), is a powerful force in business, Tennessee politics, and the lives of his two grown daughters. His drive for power results in a scheme to back Rayna's handsome husband, Teddy, in a run for Mayor of Nashville, against Rayna's wishes.

Nashville stars Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, American Horror Story) as Rayna, Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) as Juliette, Powers Boothe (MacGruber, 24) as Lamar, Charles Esten (Enlightened, Big Love) as Deacon, Eric Close (Chaos, Without a Trace) as Teddy, Clare Bowen as Scarlett, Jonathan Jackson (General Hospital) as Avery, Sam Palladio as Gunnar and Robert Wisdom as Coleman.
