Public Frenemy No. 1 // The Facebook Mystery

It's a mystery. But not like the Loch Ness Monster, the Yeti, or Big Foot. The mystery I'm talking about is visible to each and every person hosting a page on Facebook.

By today I have 1613 likes on my blog's Facebook page.

The average number of followers actually SEEING my posts is around 70-200. Let's don't sugarcoat it: It sucks. Bad. Facebook is our Frenemy. I know I'm not alone. Posts about this issue keep popping up lately:

People suggest the weirdest things & looking for mistakes. But the truth is: Facebook does random shit and wants us
to pay to reach all our followers. I know for sure I won't do that. But I just realized a pretty good way to see ALL the updates of Facebook pages. It's easy:

So from now on make it a habit: LIKE & FOLLOW!

In addition: LIKE POSTS & SHARE POSTS YOU LIKE! INTERACT!
Or do you have any other suggestions?

  3. I spent years building my Etsy shop fan page only to have it shown to 10-50 people. :( It sucks.

  4. Infuriating. I manage my paid job's FB page (a church) too, and it makes me crazy that our reach is non-existent. We're trying to build community with the congregation, but it's just not working with the FB page.
