Wanna know what I did last night?

If you follow my blog, you already know I am a serious reality TV addict. Last night I was busy designing some "Thank You" cards for my friend who just got wed... And then M called and needed to talk about some bad issues he had with his dad... And I keep have to organize so freaking much over here...

So when it was time for me to go to bed, I was wide awake. What do you do when you are wide awake? I don't know about you, but I either browse the internet, play "Candy Crush", read, or watch stupid stuff on TV. So, thank you, dear interwebs, last night I was watching.....

........ "Sister Wives".

Not just one episode, no... I was watching the whole. first. season. I know, that's crazy. I doubt there are people out there who didn't hear of this show so far. But if you don't know what this show is about, here goes the summary from Wikipedia:

Sister Wives is an American reality television series broadcast on TLC that began airing in 2010. The show documents the life of apolygamist family, which includes patriarch Kody Brown, his four wives, and their 17 children. The family began the series living in Lehi,Utah, but has since moved to Las VegasNevada. The nine-episode first season ran from September 26 to October 17, 2010, and drew strong ratings according to Nielsen Media Research. Season two of Sister Wives began on September 25, 2011. Season three began on May 13, 2012.[1] Season four began on Sunday, July 21, 2013.[2]Brown and his wives have said they participated with the show to make the public more aware of polygamist families and to combat societal prejudices. Brown believes his polygamist arrangement is legal because he is legally married only to one woman, and the other marriages are spiritual unions. Nevertheless, the series led the Brown family to become investigated for possible prosecution.

I wanted to start watching it for a while now. After watching every episode of "Breaking Amish" (Season 1 AND Season 2) plus "Breaking Amish - Brave New World" I needed something new :oD

Did you guys watch it?

Did you like it?

I will definitely start watching the next season tonight!

TV lately // Chef Race: US vs. UK

You know M and I are couch potatoes and we watch tons of TV. Right now we are still hyped by the current season of  "The Amazing Race" and really excited for the finale this Sunday! We've watched every season so far, and this is acutally the first one, "our" teams made it into the top 4. I'm a jinx and sometimes I'd rather refuse to pick a team, cause usually, if I pick them, they won´t make it past the 3rd leg of the race. I mean bad luck I guess. BUT: Woooohoooo, my Chippendales and M's Twinnies are still racing!

I guess I spread my luck lately. Cause another show we watched, was "Chef Race - US vs. UK". Guess what? We love race shows ;oD! And my favourite contestant won! Ha!

Here´s a summary from cinemablend.com:
Americans like their cooking shows. The same can likely be said for the U.K., so it seems both fitting and exciting to learn that a competition series is in the works to pit British chefs against American chefs in what sounds like an Amazing Race-type competition series with a culinary twist.

Fittingly titled Chef Race: UK Vs. U.S., from what Deadline is reporting, the American chefs might have a slight advantage here, as the series will be set in the U.S. Produced by U.K. chef Jamie Oliver for BBC America, the series will have eight American chefs and eight British chefs racing from Los Angeles to New York in an effort to win $100k. " The contestants have no money and minimal resources, so they must use their resourcefulness, ingenuity, leadership and finesse along with their cooking skills to win."

With the competition set on U.S. soil, the Americans may have home-court advantage on their side. But, of course, the language is the same, and it sounds like cooking know-how may be the most important asset for a competition like this.

While I'm thinking the competitors will be relative unknowns, we'll be seeing some familiar faces on the series, as MasterChef's Richard Corrigan will be on hand as a judge and mentor, and the Food Network's Claire Robinson is set to host. And given the similarities between the format of this one and The Amazing Race, it's good to know that TAR's Amy Chacon is among the executive producers on the series.

As a fan of cooking shows and The Amazing Race, this one sounds like it could be a winner. I especially love watching people cook fast and under pressure. It's a bizarre thing, I'll admit, but it's the reason I'm loving MasterChef right now. If there's fire, that's a bonus too. We'll have to wait and see if Chef Race: UK Vs. U.S. involves rapid cooking challenges when it premieres this fall."

This show indeed was extra cool, cause it included racing AND food. We love food. We love cooking.

The challenges were awesome, sometimes yucky though. Poor Claire Robinson - she had to eat some pretty weird stuff as a host of this show!

There were 10 episodes. All chefs started in Santa Monica, and raced across the country to the final location: New York! I picked Stan as my favourite chef in the 2nd episode already. He seemed to be the nicest guy, not trying to be in the center of attention all the time. He looks like the nice guy next door, who invites you for BBQ and an ice cold beer every weekend.

Since I am european ;o) I sure picked someone from the team UK as well: Rebecca Marshman, 19 year old girl from Surrey/UK. She was doing pretty good! I felt sorry when she got eliminated...

But: Stan was still on board! He was the only amateur chef on the race, and he WON!!! Woooohooooo! Sidenote: I accidently found out that he won BEFORE we watched the finale, when I was browsing through Facebook and opened a PDF.. But I didn´t tell M I already knew who's going to win. So shhhhhhhhht!

Did you guys watch the show? If not, go ahead and watch it!!! Oh, but now you will know who won. Ummmmmm - sorry! :oD

But it´s never too late to dislike Cody! What? Who's Cody? Watch the show and you will find out!

Have a lovely day!
xoxo
Anni

Dallas 2012 // Current TV addiction

M and I recently started watching the new Dallas.  I was a fan back in the days.  I remember the whole family sitting in front of the TV, watching  Dallas. Childhood memories!
So when M told me about the new Dallas coming up, something made me want to at least check out the pilot episode of this revival.  Now I´m addicted. I love it! It's fun to watch Linda Gray, Patrick Duffy and Larry Hagman duke it out again.

I have to catch up though - I´m at episode 5, M already made it to episode 10...

What do you guys think of  Dallas 2012? Or which TV shows are you currently watching?
