Weekend Recap LinkUp #4 // Cleaning and a SALE

Good Morning & Happy Monday!

It's past 7 am already, and I have to get this post ready while sipping on my cup of coffee. These few minutes might be the only "free" ones today... We've had a busy weekend. M was working Saturday and Sunday, and it was up to me getting the house ready for the new furniture, and the new washer and dryer.

So I was mostly cleaning and shampooing carpets over here. This morning around 4:30 am, M moved the "old" couch into the office/guest room,. Now as soon as he leaves for work, I will have to get the living room ready, and clean the parts of the carpet I couldn't reach during the weekend. I can't wait for the new stuff to arrive! I love the new couch!!! And you can't even imagine how happy I am, that the laundromat days are finally over!

One thing I want to share with you real quick though: I have a 50% discount on my 2 top notch ad spots right now. Just head to my "Advertise // Sponsor Info" tab, and select "Top Of The Blog". Using the promo code "TOPLESS" will save you $10! Or if you prefer the "In Post Ad" for maximum exposure, use "BOTTOMLESS" as a promo code. If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up!

Sponsor Spotlight: Meet Lisa from "The Joneses Blog"!

I am very happy to have Lisa from "The Joneses Blog" sponsoring my blog this month!  -------------------->

Make sure to visit her blog and leave some love :)

------------------------------

"My name is Lisa Jones and I write over at The Joneses Blog. I wasn't always a Jones, though. I grew up Lisa Jeffries in North Carolina. In the midst of my college education, on one Fourth of July weekend, I met Clifton Jones, who was serving in the United States Navy. It was pretty much love at first sight. After I graduated and Clifton returned from a six-month deployment, we decided to marry. (Yes, it was a mutual decision over Skype. Clif is not a romantic.)

Since I become a Jones and started writing The Joneses Blog, we have moved to Hawaii and Oklahoma, endured military injuries, surgeries, and a medical discharge, and the birth of two sons, Owen and Wyatt. Clifton studies computer science using the GI Bill and I work as a secretary at a carpet store.
I don't pretend that my life is particularly more exciting than yours, but I love to share how I am making it all happen: as the wife to a weight-lifting veteran and mom to two baby boys. The best aspect of blogging is interacting with others, so please view my sharing as an invitation for you to share, also."

About Distinctive Chesterfields

Run by husband and wife team Clare and Steve Laidlaw, Distinctive Chesterfields was founded in 2006 and
has supplied beautiful leather furniture to a range of customers and clients.

Offering beautifully handmade chesterfield furniture, including sofas, suites, footstools, club chairs and
wing back chairs, Distinctive Chesterfields can also provide a bespoke service for those who want
something truly unique. With delivery worldwide, the company offers pieces which are the epitome of
British style and elegance.

The thriving family-run company ships its stunning hand crafted furniture to Europe, Russia, Africa,
America, Canada, Australia and Japan, and customers have included TV’s T4 on the Beach, the 2012
Olympics, Cambridge and Oxford universities, and the Hilton hotels chain.

Using only the finest leathers and hardwood frames, the company’s skilled and dedicated workshop team
creates a unique and extensive range of Chesterfield furniture. It’s a style which remains as prestigious
today as it was during its early days, when its distinctive design initially emerged back in the 1800s.

The Chesterfield is believed to have originated here in England, when the fourth earl of Chesterfield -
Phillip Stanhope (1694-1773) was honoured by the commissioning of a piece of fine furniture, a leather
chesterfield sofa.

Distinctive Chesterfields Has the X Factor

The English company, based in the picturesque village of Honley, West Yorkshire, even saw one of its
beautiful red sofas appear on the UK’s X Factor – and has been sat on by judges Nicole Scherzinger,
Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, as well as signed by the live finalists. The sofa was then
auctioned off to the Make a Wish children’s charity, raising much-needed funds for terminally ill children.

Why, oh, why? // PR gone wrong

My fellow bloggers might know that issue: I get tons of e-mails with the weirdest content. 95% of the time the stuff companies offer me, don't fit my life(style) at all. So I chose not to accept it. No, no giveaway on my blog for random stuff. My readers are special, and that's how the products offered on here should be. The company should fit me, and me and my personality should fit the company. Easy!

Anyways....

Last night I got an e-mail to my blog account. It wasn't an offer for a collaboration or anything. It was just a random e-mail telling me about a $50 gift card, "JUST" for me. Ummmm, ok. Not, I guess.

Everything was fine until the moment I opened that e-mail and saw the pictures and stuff:

Scott. Disick. WTF? Do I look like someone needing something that is being presented by/hosted by/kissed butt by Scott Disick? Ummmm HECK NO! And I really don't understand how a company can pick this dude as a face of the brand?

For me, this is a serious case of PR gone wrong. Like an overweight personal trainer trying to sell me some diet stuff. Not happening.

What's your favorite no-go when it comes to advertising and PR? Any examples?

_________

But maybe YOUR company and MISS ANNI would a great match?
