Weekend Recap #7 // Link Up!

Howdy and sorry for being MIA for a couple of days! I was officially fighting my first super bad cold in the USA. Saturday and Sunday I was 90% asleep.

I am sharing my Ginger Ninja printable today, cause this little guy, besides tons of meds, helped me getting well again :)

Since I have missed the "Weekend Recap Feature" as well, I will just extend last week's linky. Feel free to link up, even if you linked up a post already!

Have a lovely Monday!

Weekend Recap LinkUp #5 // Baskets, anyone?

Good Morning and Happy Monday!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend? I was working 10 hours Friday, so I bet you can tell I didn't do much afterwards. Saturday was mostly relaxing. It was super hot and humid this weekend. I am sure we've hit the 100s. So staying inside with the AC running was just perfect.

Since I have a crafts show coming up in September, I am doing a whole lot of crocheting lately. I have finished these two baskets Saturday night while watching 2 Miss Marple movies. If you want one, just shoot me an e-mail. If you would like another color, that's no problem at all! Let me know what you want, and I can make your very unique custom basket :)

Grey/Neon - Size (approx.): 5.5 x 5.5 x 5 inches

$18 (includes shipping // US only)

Brown - Size (approx.): 5 x 5 x 5.5 inches.

$15 (includes shipping // US only) SOLD!

The baskets are great for organizing stuff, like your Vitamins, hair accessories, wash cloths... Heck you can use it for whatever you want! It's awesome.

My newest Challenge: Living vegan

Sometimes it feels as if my body is constantly trying to make me feel miserable.
And I am really sick of it.

I quit smoking 101 days ago.

I'm on a healthy workout schedule, even though the freaking herniated discs were and still are a major setback.

But somehow, no matter what, some shit happens.

I had a big check up at my doc about 3 weeks ago, because I had some health issues, especially being very, very, very, tired throughout the day. The test results came back, and long story short: I had to go on a vegan diet right away. I have a bowel inflammation which could become a chronically if I don't take any action. Both my cholesterol levels (the good and the bad) were HIGH! I'm just glad my food journal showed the doctor that I am far from eating crap 24/7.

So - I am on this vegan diet now for about 2 weeks. If it would have been ME choosing this lifestyle, I would be ok with it. But no. My body decided.
I LOVE cheese. I LOVE fish. I LOVE beef. I LOVE chicken! Yoghurt!!!! Cake!! Ice cream... :o( I have to stop now.

I bet you can tell, the first few days were really tough. I had to clean out my fridge and pantry and was left with kinda nothing. I had to start doing research, finding recipes (THANK GOD FOR PINTEREST!!), trying them, liking some, disliking some. Trial and error. Geez, somehow some part of an animal is in every freaking thing you can buy at the grocery store!

So where are my fellow vegan bloggers? Please stand up and help this lady walking through the valley of the shadow of death!

Tonight I will make Pasta + Zucchini + Mint + Cashew Ricotta Sauce + Almond Parmesan. Fingers crossed!

Yes, I accept this challenge! And guess what, it starts to be a whole lot of fun :o)

#Food // Easy Chicken Stroganoff Slow Cooker Recipe!

As you all know, Santa brought me a Slow Cooker last Christmas. So far I really enjoy my new little buddy, cause nothing beats a nice cooked meal, ready to eat when you get home after a looooong day at the office.

Last week I found this recipe on Pinterest:

I made it, it was EASY and tasted AWESOME! So I want to share it here:

Ingredients:
  • Two boneless skinless chicken breast (frozen or fresh)
  • Lipton Onion Soup Mix (1 pouch)
  • Sour Cream (16 oz)
  • 1 can of Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Half onion or whole depending on preference
  • Sliced mushrooms

Recipe:
  1. Place frozen or fresh chicken breast in bottom of crock pot
  2. Mix soup mix, sour cream, mushroom soup, onion and mushrooms together
  3. Pour mixture over chicken breast
  4. Cooker on high for 4 hours in slow cooker

The chicken will be tender and easy to crush up once the mixture is done cooking. Serve over egg noodles or rice, whichever you choose! (via: http://thriftywifey.com)

Try it!!

So now I want to ask you chickees to share your favourite and (please) EASY crock pot recipes with me and my readers! Leave a link or post it in the comment section!
