Tomato Parmesan Chicken // Tender & Crunchy!

After sharing the Pizza Dough recipe earlier this week, I decided to share another Italian inspired dish with you. I was coming up with this one, when I didn't feel like going to the store. So all the ingredients are basically things you might find in your pantry and freezer. It turned out so good, it's one of our favorite dishes now.

I love the way the chicken turns out after a few hours in the slow cooker. But I also love a crunchy crust. This recipe is combining the best of both worlds:

The very best way to buy your veggies! // A trip to the farm

Last weekend my sister and nephew took me to a local farm, where you can pick your own fruits and vegetables. It was really awesome! Even though it's October and pretty much fall over here in Germany, there was still a lot to pick. On the left picture above you can see what I got. It's awesome: you go there, grab a knife and basket and/or wheelbarrow, and off to the fields you go, harvesting!

On Saturday I made fried green tomatoes right away. Yummy!! I will share my vegan recipe on here soon!

Here go some more impressions from our trip to the farm:

One thing is for sure and already discussed with M: As soon as we have a house with a nice and bigger backyard, Miss Anni will have some chicken and a garden!

One week down // Weekend plans

Howdy ladies!

TGIF! What a week! Working with people in Korea, who celebrate "Chinese New Year" this weekend and taking off to visit family and friends turned out making this whole week a lot busier for me than usual. A lot had to be done before their 4-day-weekend. I wish I had one, too, though!

But nonetheless I am really looking forward to my weekend! While I sit at work, my buddy Mr. Slow Cooker prepares this for me:

So my weekend will start off with a nice dinner! I might call my sis as well, maybe she wants to join me? Eating alone is not really fun... But this "Quinoa Chicken Chili" looks delicious! Can´t wait to try it!

I think I will start watching "Army Wives" again and start with Season 1 tonight. To be honest, I didn`t really like this show first. But after a while I got hooked up and as I confessed on my Facebook the other day: I cried watching the season finale of Official Army Wives.Do you watch the show? Who´s your fave character? I can´t really decide, but if I had to pick, I'd have to say Roxy. She was so naive in the beginning and now she has become such a sting person. I hope she will be back. It won't be the same without her...

Saturday or Sunday I will go to the movies with 2 friends from church. I haven´t been in a movie theatre for AGES! I hope I won´t fall asleep. I don´t even know which movie we are going to watch?! I just told them I`m in, and all  I need to know is time and place, and I´ll be there.

M told me to stay busy while he`s in the USA. I´m doing my best to do it, but still enjoying quiet time at home, with a book, coffee, Coco...

But I'm back on my church schedule as well and I'm happy to go to the service again every Sunday and bible class on Thursdays.

On 02/20 me and two of my sisters will go to a concert in Nuremberg. Moses Pelham, my fave german "rapper" and producer! I'm looking forward to it! It just sucks it's on a Monday and I won't be off Tuesday... Going out partying while having to work the next day is nothing for women my age anymore ;oD!

What have you guys planned for the weekend? Anything exciting?

xoxo

Yummy Food! // Egg Rolls!

M showed me how to make egg rolls the other day. It was my first time making them :) and they turned out soooooo good! Chopping carrots, ginger and cabbage, together, then put them in a pan with some soy sauce, adding chicken and shrimps... The kitchen smelled so yummy!
The rolling part was the most fun :)! M said I was doing a pretty good job. Well, it was easier than I thought it is.
Since we don´t have a deep frier, I let M do the frying in a pot. I´m always a lil scared to do that.

Did you guys make your own egg-rolls so far? What is your special ingredient?

Weekend Recap - Stepford Wife? // Shit hit the fan.

Good evening from Germany!

Another weekend is over - too fast again.
What did I do? Mostly: trying to catch up on the loads and loads of laundry: Check!

Cleaning the winows: Check! Nice to see the neighbor hood again!

Baking a cake: Check! A basic stirred cake, pimped up with some banana chips, ground walnuts and almonds and white chocolate. Yep, pure awesomeness!

Plus I was trying the super duper grill function of my oven for the first time and made some kick ass chicken! Maaaaan, it was so yummy!!!! I think M loves me even more now ;oD

My Monday was really busy. We went to a studio today to do some motion capturing. And it was about 100F in that freakin studio! The 90F outside felt like a cool breeze! But I´ll tell you more about that tomorrow.

The biggest bummer was waiting for me when I got home, though. M lost his job. Well actually I´m happy about that cause they didn´t appreciate what he was doing and his bitchy boss kept trying to find stuff to blame on him.... yada yada yada... It still sucks!
Good thing is we still have his school paycheck coming in and that gives him some time to find a new job. He already got a few offers plus sent out his resume to a couple of job listings today so I´m really confident he will have a good and nicer job soon! But please keep him in your prayers!

Have a wonderful Monday!

xoxo
