DOWN THE RABBITHOLE

Verena was born near Cologne, Germany and worked for over 30 years as an artist and art teacher.
Over the years she showcased her work in several national and international art exhibitions and
show events. Verena is a mother of four and proud owner of two pugs in Westphalia, Germany.
“Alice in Wonderland inspired me because the story is full of surreal and comic characters, which
communicate in a philosophical and absurd way and always do something crazy. That inspired me
to capture those mad ones in illustrated form.“
EAT ME, DRINK ME

Helke was born in Northern Germany and studied fine arts in Bonn with specialising in painting and
graphic design. She runs her own design label “Hellicopter” and ecommerce site. In addition she set
up a design retail space called “merkWürdig”. Helke lives and works in Cologne, Germany.
“When I first saw the image, I knew I wanted to work with a bird perspective and turn the archways
into doors. For further inspiration I re-watched the old versions of Alice in Wonderland and was kind
of sad that my scene was not set in the middle of Wonderland but in a closed room. Thus, I opened
the doors a bit to give the audience a glimpse of wonderland.”
SEA OF TEARS

Holly studies fashion illustration at the London College of Art. She recently collaborated with Apple
and Company Magazine to create a range of trend illustrations for the new fashion season. Inspired
by Egon Schiele and Lucien Freud, Holly loves to capture the human psyche through traditional oil
painting as well as digital art.
CAUCAS RACE

Christoph is a renowned illustrator and graffiti artist who lives and works in Hamburg, Germany
who creates art under the pseudonym Drops. Having studied illustration and communication design
at HAW, Christoph has been commissioned for design and illustration work by Becks, Volkswagen,
Absolut Vodka, Jack Daniels and others.
