Berlin Inspires // City Guide – Summer Edition

Berlin in summer is a must. Once the city awakes from its winter hibernation, it is more vibrant and intoxicating than ever before: cozy summer spots on lakes or in the park, inspiring museums and galleries, new and trendy places for lunch & dinner, or night clubs where you can party until dawn – Berlin is the whole world in a single city.

Out now, the Berlin Inspires City Guide Summer Edition shows every facet of summer in Berlin. Apart from hot newcomer places and Berlin classics, it has interviews with locals who reveal their personal “hidden champions.”

Workout Questionnaire!

Precious over at "The Coily Bombshell" did this a couple of weeks ago and I thought I'd do it too!

1. Five Fitness Items I Can’t Live Without:
- Jillian Michaels DVDs
- bike
- My "Mizuno Wave Nexus 5" running shoes
- sports bras
- my leopard dumbbells

2. Favorite pre-workout snack/meal:
Banana. Or some Yoghurt.

3. On my fitness bucket list:
- DEFINITELY running the "Bolt to the Q" 5k run!!! Hello? I'm the biggest Chargers fan EVER!
- Running one of the big marathons. Like the one in Boston or NYC.
- Riding my bike across as many states as possible in the US
- Do "Urban Hiking" (= I think I invented that one) and doing sightseeing runs in cities all around the world!
Just like I recently did in Berlin (Brandenburg Gate was my halfway finish line :oD)

4. Must-have tech tools:
- My "Polar FT7" HRM. Love it!
- "SportsTracker" App (Add me as a friend, if you use it as well! "AnniSchenk")
- Wireless headphones. I need to buy some. Or are there any sponsors out there? ;o)

5. Top exercise gear:
- Definitely my running shoes. I did treadmill analysis and everything to find a pair that suits me and my
running style perfectly. So they might not look the way I would have designed them, but running in them
  is just wonderful!
- I am recently in love with "Hunkemoeller" workout clothes and sports bras!
- Reebok EasyTones. Shoes and shirts. Perfect for aerobic! I now own 3 pairs of shoes and 2 shirts :oD

6. Motivational mantra:
Jillian Michaels changed my life, so my mantras sure come from her :oD

7. Next big exercise goal:
- Beat my PR at the next 2 races
- Run 10k
- Finish "Ripped in 30", "Extreme Shed & Shred" & "Hard Body"
- Lose more weight

8. Favorite cardio exercise:
Ummmmm... Running! Biking! And HIIT on the elliptical!

9. Favorite strength move:
Squats

10. What would you say is your biggest fitness accomplishment thus far?
- Quit smoking
- Finishing the 30 Day Shred
- Running my first 5k in 32 mins

Bread & Butter 2013 // Berlin // ReCap

I'm back from Berlin for more than a week now, and still didn't manage it to post some pictures on here.

The "Bread & Butter" was crazy. Busy. Exhausting. It was a wonderful experience, but those 3 days plus all the stress that was waiting for me back at the office, made me officially ready for 24 hours of sleep. Straight.

I took a few pics at the convention. I will stop writing now, and let the photos do the rest:

Berlin

I've spent the whole weekend in Berlin.

Fashion week was awesome!

But I also did some sightseeing and celebrated one of my best friends 40 birthday at the nhow hotel Saturday night.

I had a blast!

But I'm happy to be back home anyway ;o) - Anni and Berlin will never be good friends I guess!

Berlin

On my way to Berlin

This train ride is sooooooo boring... But I'm less than 1 hour I will be in Berlin. Finally!

I took a book I'm trying to finish for months now...

But it's so hard since I don't like it at all! Everybody is like "wow, long way down is a great book!" but I don't like any of the characters plus they are pretty annoying. Here goes my problem: I can't start reading a book and them just stop and never touch it again if I didn't finish it. Guess that's the Mr Monk inside of me.
So I'm taking this challenge, read page after page and just want it to be over so I can finally start a new one.
One I like.

My traveling outfit? Here we go:
- my fave leather boots // hallhuber
- gray leggings // Tally weijl
- black jersey skirt // H&M
- gray shirt // H&M
- striped cardigan // vero moda
- scarf // latest H&M fashion against aids collection

Shopping // Bag packing // BERLIN

Howdy!!

Just a quick post to show you what I´ve bought downtown today.... It´s getting colder and colder over here. Gray rocks! So here we go:

Tomorrow morning I´ll leave for Berlin. I´ll just stay 24 hrs but I hope I can take a few pics to show you guys. I visit my friend; she´s gonna have her house warming plus early bday party :) I don´t really like Berlin, but I´m looking forward to spend time with my friend! Oh AND: what a coincidence! My brother is gonna be there, too! He´s visiting his girlfriend who´s staying in Berlin for 3 months. So I´ll meet them, too. It´s kinda crazy - I live in southern germany, my brother in the wild west... and we all meet in Berlin :)
The only part about Berlin that I like? The bands & their music! Here goes a lil video (or2):
